Kraków taxi fares
A Kraków taxi may charge at most 9 zł flag fall and 4 zł per km by day in zone I (6 zł at night, on Sundays and public holidays). Most companies charge less - compare their price lists below.
Maximum taxi fares in Kraków
Maximum official fares are set by Kraków City Council. They have applied since 29/07/2022 (resolution no. XCII/2512/22) and have not changed since. Companies may charge less, never more.

Zone I and zone II explained
- Both zones are inside Kraków city limits. Zone I is the inner part of the city (the centre and most housing estates), zone II covers the outskirts beyond the zone I boundary.
- If a ride starts and ends in the same zone, one tariff applies - even if the route partly crosses the other zone.
- The resolution does not apply outside Kraków - e.g. at Kraków-Balice airport (Zabierzów municipality) or in Wieliczka. There the company’s own price list applies.
- When the tariff changes during the ride (day to night, zone I to II), the driver must tell the passenger.
Kraków taxi company price lists
Tariffs 1 and 2 are zone I (day and night), tariffs 3 and 4 apply outside zone I - companies also use them outside the city limits. The table only lists companies whose prices we checked on their own website.

Kraków Airport taxi - fixed prices
Kraków Airport Taxi is the only official taxi operator at the airport. It has fixed prices based on the distance from the airport - the same by day, at night and on holidays. Prices checked on 20/10/2026.

Overcharged by the driver - what to do
Always take a receipt - a driver with a taximeter must issue one. It shows the side number, flag fall, kilometres by tariff, date and time.
A licensed Kraków taxi has the city crest and side number on the doors, the driver’s ID on display and a sticker with the maximum fares on the right rear door window.

Taxi fare questions
Does the night tariff apply on Saturdays?
No. The resolution treats Saturday as a working day: the day tariff applies from 6:00 to 22:00 and the night tariff from 22:00 to 6:00. The night tariff applies all day only on Sundays and public holidays.
Can the driver charge extra for luggage?
No. The fare resolution has no luggage surcharge, and local rules let you take hand luggage such as suitcases and backpacks free of charge. Pets may travel with the driver’s consent.
Do extra passengers cost more?
No. You may take other people on free seats at no extra charge; one person pays the taximeter fare.
Do the maximum fares apply to Uber and Bolt?
According to Kraków City Hall, the maximum fares apply both to traditional taxis and to rides ordered through apps - but only within Kraków city limits.
How much does an hour of waiting cost?
At most 55 zł per hour under the resolution. Companies in our comparison charge from 44 zł to 55 zł per hour.
Can the driver ask for payment before the ride?
Only in specific cases: for pre-booked rides and rides outside the city limits the driver may ask for a deposit or the full expected amount in advance.
