Kraków Airport Taxi - fixed price
The only official taxi operator at the airport is Kraków Airport Taxi, run by the airport company. Cars wait at the terminal around the clock, and you can also book online or by phone (the call centre is open daily 6:00-22:00).
The price does not depend on the time of day - it depends on the distance from the airport, in eight zones from PLN 29 to 169. On the operator’s map the Old Town is on the border of the PLN 109 and 129 zones, Kraków Główny station and Kazimierz are in the PLN 129 zone, and Nowa Huta in the PLN 149-169 zones. Above 27 km the price is agreed with the driver before the ride, at most PLN 8 per km. The full zone table is on our fares page.
Metered taxi companies
You can book a Kraków taxi company by phone or app and the driver will meet you in the arrivals hall. The taximeter charges the company’s out-of-town tariff up to the Kraków city limits and the city tariff after that.
From the airport to the Old Town (about 17 km) a daytime ride costs about PLN 74-111 based on company price lists, from about PLN 80 at night. We compare every company on this route on the Kraków Airport - Old Town page.
Radio Taxi 919 also sells a prepaid voucher for Balice to the city centre for PLN 110.
Apps
Uber states that it serves Balice airport; the pickup point is shown in the app. App prices depend on demand and are shown before the ride. The airport is outside Kraków, so Kraków’s maximum fares do not apply up to the city limits - it is worth comparing the app price with the fixed airport taxi price.
SKA1 train - 17 minutes to Kraków Główny
The Koleje Małopolskie train takes 17 minutes from the airport to Kraków Główny. It runs every 30 minutes by day; the first leaves the airport at 4:17 and the last at 1:47. A ticket costs PLN 20 (PLN 19 in the iMKA app).
Note: city (MPK) tickets are not valid on the airport train - not even the 70-minute combined ticket.
Buses 300, 902 and 209
- 300 (day, every 10 minutes) - about 19 minutes to the Muzeum Narodowe stop, continuing to Os. Podwawelskie. It does not go to the station or the Main Square. A 30-minute ticket (PLN 6) is enough.
- 902 (night, roughly hourly) - about 32 minutes to Kraków Główny station. A 60-minute ticket (PLN 8) is the safer choice.
- 209 - an infrequent local line to the Salwator loop, a dozen or so runs a day.
Tickets are sold by machines in the arrivals hall, at the stop, on the bus (card) and in apps.
What to choose
- One person with light luggage - the train, if you are heading near the station.
- Several people or big suitcases - a taxi; usually cheaper with a taxi company, no waiting and a fixed price with Kraków Airport Taxi.
- Night arrival - Kraków Airport Taxi (no night surcharge) or bus 902.
